change your life.

A month or so ago, I was out at happy hour with a friend, and a call came about a job with an environmental non-profit in Honolulu. A hot day, we were outside, on the bar's patio, and I was sipping a glass of white. The phone rang, and life changed.

"Yes," I said.

It's been a year for changes. In many ways, for many reasons. It's in keeping with the theme then, that I should pack up a couple of cardboard boxes, heft on my backpack, jump on a plane, and move to Hawai'i.

A month later, here I am. I've been living in Honolulu since the end of September--have leased an apartment, bought a car, opened a checking account. All the things you do when you are living some place different from the place you were before.

Life sometimes pivots wide angles on seemingly small acts. You say, "yes," and the next thing you know, you're starting over, 3,000 miles from home.
